I first became aware of Saqib after hearing about him from a friend of mine, who is a Montgomery County elementary school teacher in Gaithersburg. She was a fierce supporter and told me that I should pay attention to what he had to say and what he was doing for the people of District 39. We connected on Facebook and I am extremely proud and thrilled to be supporting Delegate Ali in his campaign for Maryland State Senate this year.
Saqib is a grassroots, progressive Democrat who fights for the little man and who really cares about his constituents and their issues. He is always energized and out in the community talking with real people, not just out there in the months before an election to garner votes. He is concerned about the issues that impact the lives of Marylanders and actively seeks out citizens to find out what issues are important to them and what he can do to help. The people of District 39 can always count on him to listen to their needs and to fight for them, regardless of whether or not an election is looming on the horizon. Saqib works hard on a daily basis – knocking on doors, speaking with his constituents, fighting for us and protecting the rights of all Marylanders.
